Our family lived in southern Texas for 25 years. Having tried various Mexican restaurants in the Richmond area, our preference is Casa Grande - specifically the one on Brook Road in the Martin/Target shopping center.

If any of the Mexican restaurants here would start serving fresh tortillas hot off the grill, they would have standing room only.

Miss the Joe's Inn that used to be in Mechanicsville. Many were sad to see it go. We also loved the Sunday buffets there.

Can I please be provided with an email address?

CUSTOMER REVIEW: Yesterday I had the worst experience I've ever had at this establishment. I WAS (and I do mean WAS) a very current patron of this restaurant, but I will never eat there again. The staff were the rudest I've ever experienced on this day. I was refused service because I had attended to wait either at the bar or on the patio until they were open for the evening. Apparently they thought I had been drinking (not true) because I slipped on a curb while getting out of my car. I was told they would not allow me to eat their last night. Even though I've always enjoyed the food there, the food is overpriced and the quantity of the food makes the price not worth it. It is good food though and I have always enjoyed it. BUT NO MORE, I HAVE NEVER BEEN MORE EMBARRASSED IN MY LIFE. They have lost a good customer and I intend to spread the word to everyone I know. Instead I ate at the Bistro at Stony Point Parkway for the first time and it was excellent. FLEMINGS will never get my business again. And by the way, there are far better steakhouses in Richmond, Va: Top of the list Buckheads off Parham Rd., Morton's downtown, and as always Ruth Chris on Huguenot Rd. Flemings is just the one closest to my location !

This is my favorite sushi place in town. The fish is very fresh and the prices are reasonable.

I went to a hot dog cart in Pleasant's Hardware parking lot on Broad Street that was really good and really cheap. $1.50 for a hot dog just like you get on the streets on NYC!

I love this post - The food cart movement will hit Richmond like it's hit Portland and Austin, despite the impediments. The non-profit company I work for, New Visions New Ventures, is starting an initiative to help entrepreneurs through the (at times very complicated) ins and outs of opening such a business, so if you ever change your mind or know of someone who's interested, hit me up!
